Celebrating a Career of Dedicated Service

After a career of dedicated service, Executive Director Larry Haqq has announced his upcoming retirement from Abbeville Housing.
Larry has over 30 years of experience in the Management and Development of Affordable Housing in South Carolina, Georgia, and Minnesota. Throughout his career, he has managed various types of developments, including Market Rate, Low Income Housing Tax Credits (LIHTC), Public Housing, Section 202 and 811, Single Family Homes, as well as Housing Choice Vouchers.
Throughout his career, Larry initiated partnerships with various stakeholders, including City, County Officials, HUD, and Non-profits. Disposed of and recapitalized affordable housing properties utilizing various funding sources (to include Section 18, HOPE VI, LIHTC, and RAD) to ensure long-term viability.
Prior to joining Abbeville Housing, Larry served the Fulton County Housing Authority in Georgia for 18 years. Serving the agency in a variety of roles before being appointed Executive Director in 2014.
