Position Description:

As an agency we are committed to providing safe, decent, and affordable housing to members of our community, while looking for opportunities to create self-sufficiency and economic independence for our clients. This key role will oversee the public housing program, and assist the Executive Director as needed. This position performs administrative, managerial, and supervisory duties.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Reviews verification, substantiation, and research regarding a variety of eligibility data supplied by current or prospective residents including income, legal status, and social services assistance. Obtains background checks through submissions to Agency's approved third-party investigative service to obtain and/or verify background information.
  2. Calculating rent and ensuring accuracy in calculations. Responsible for entering, submitting, and maintaining resident information through electronic PIC system.
  3. Monitors, reviews, and analyzes housing management data and prepares monthly, quarterly, and annual and/or other reports (EIV, IVT, PIC) as required addressing occupancy, delinquency rates, and other related information in a timely manner.
  4. Create, monitor, and implement operational standards and guidelines. Ensure that quality controls are conducted in accordance with policy.
  5. Reviews and implement compliance in accordance with HUD audits and Management Occupancy Reviews.
  6. Responsible for achieving maximum occupancy and minimum turnover rate at all properties by actively promoting public housing activities.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or related field from an accredited college or university with five years' experience in managing public housing program 
    or
  • Ten years of experience in the Public Housing Program with public housing specialist certifications:
    • Rent Calculations for Public Housing,
    • Public Housing Specialist, or
    • Public Housing Management certification.
